Roy Davis & The Dregs have sad news and exciting news. The sad news: Grey Town is going out of print. While it will be available online for a limited time, you should all buy your hard copies now, because there is a limited supply left and there will not be more. While Grey Town is certainly one of RD& The Dregs children, it is the disobedient child that they love less, even though they would never say that to him.
Secondly and more importantly, tracking for a BRAND SPANKING NEW album is set to begin soon. We know, it feels like Deadweight just came out, doesn't it? Well...this is just the announcement, the album will not be released until after Winter is over, because winter sucks and nobody wants to associate a work of beauty with the hell that is Maine winter. Here's the scoop:
Roy is going to live in an undisclosed secluded location and focus all his attenion on this new album, for the next few months. You will not see him drinking gross cheap beer at fancy bars, or eating delicious treats at Portland hotspots. Other than the occasional show, which you should come to, Roy will be a no-show. Sometimes, in life, you have to do things right, the way you want them to be done. We, the dregs, will be joining him in the entire process, while still trying to maintain our lives. He has no life. Life is meaningless. Have you heard that Pedro The Lion song that goes: "Wouldn't it be nice if life were meaningless? But everything is so meaningful and most everything turns to shit." Pretty cool song. Regardless, I hope you are excited, because we think the result of these actions will please you to no end. Sincerely,
The Dregs.
p.S. Stay Tuned.
Roy and the boys back from Nashville...
The tour van Betsy rolled into Porland late last night. Whether she was enlightened or horrified by what she saw for the last ten days, only god knows. She was definitely a good girl and made the whole trip without a worry.

Deadweight review in Northeast Performer! Party for independence day in Boston friday!
Hey dogbreaths and baby carrots! I am happy to be alive today. Which is rare, usually life is just a way to pass time between X-Files episodes for me. We got a new review in NE Performer this month. They dig it! People still dig it. Do you?
You can head on over to our press section or their website (http://www.performermag.com/ and click on NORTHEAST, then RECORDED REVIEWS). Some highlights here:
"If Modest Mouse mellowed down a bit and blued-out their sound, the result would be similar to the sound of Dead Weight - a little downhearted, a little uptempo and at its heart, almost painfully human"
Yes yes, I like what you've done here. Wayne's world? No one?
"While they tread lightly on the current alt-country sound being popularized by groups Three Day Threshold and Girls, Guns & Glory, there seems to be less emphasis on vocal character and more on overall tone for this group. Rather, his voice gains personality through its understated air."
Go on...
Also, this is going to be in all caps because I mean it: HUGE SHOW IN BOSTON FRIDAY NIGHT FOR THE FOURTH OF JULY!!! BRING YOUR BEST FRIEND'S GIRLFRIEND, WE WONT TELL!
Please stay in touch with me, babies. I miss hearing your voices when I go too long without someone popping in to the myspace or via email to say hello and chat about band news/life news/politics.
See you soooooooon!

Ready, set, GO!
Hey peoples! Our tour is coming right up in a few weeks. Plans have been laid, preparations made, coffee brewed, granola bars packed, guitars tuned, amplifiers turned to 11, jeans ripped, weed hidden in CD cases...um...songs written?
Anyway, we are stoked. We're getting great responses from folks all over the cities along the way, so I think we're gonna have a blast and meet some cool new people.
If you live in a city we're coming to and want to volunteer to help us out by spreading the word or putting up some flyers, drop me a line and I'll get you the poster and give you a free CD.
Watch out America, here we come! Wish us luck...
