Hey dogbreaths and baby carrots! I am happy to be alive today. Which is rare, usually life is just a way to pass time between X-Files episodes for me. We got a new review in NE Performer this month. They dig it! People still dig it. Do you?
You can head on over to our press section or their website (http://www.performermag.com/ and click on NORTHEAST, then RECORDED REVIEWS). Some highlights here:
"If Modest Mouse mellowed down a bit and blued-out their sound, the result would be similar to the sound of Dead Weight - a little downhearted, a little uptempo and at its heart, almost painfully human"
Yes yes, I like what you've done here. Wayne's world? No one?
"While they tread lightly on the current alt-country sound being popularized by groups Three Day Threshold and Girls, Guns & Glory, there seems to be less emphasis on vocal character and more on overall tone for this group. Rather, his voice gains personality through its understated air."
Go on...
Also, this is going to be in all caps because I mean it: HUGE SHOW IN BOSTON FRIDAY NIGHT FOR THE FOURTH OF JULY!!! BRING YOUR BEST FRIEND'S GIRLFRIEND, WE WONT TELL!
Please stay in touch with me, babies. I miss hearing your voices when I go too long without someone popping in to the myspace or via email to say hello and chat about band news/life news/politics.
See you soooooooon!
Roy
Ready, set, GO!
Hey peoples! Our tour is coming right up in a few weeks. Plans have been laid, preparations made, coffee brewed, granola bars packed, guitars tuned, amplifiers turned to 11, jeans ripped, weed hidden in CD cases...um...songs written?
Anyway, we are stoked. We're getting great responses from folks all over the cities along the way, so I think we're gonna have a blast and meet some cool new people.
If you live in a city we're coming to and want to volunteer to help us out by spreading the word or putting up some flyers, drop me a line and I'll get you the poster and give you a free CD.
Watch out America, here we come! Wish us luck...
Roy and the Boyz.

Hey boys and girls! It has been too long since an update on here, though for those of you lucky to follow our myspace page, there has been lots of news and blogs and junk. I will try my best to keep the websites in the same place.
Check it out, Deadweight made the reputable Americana hotshot Hickory Wind's Top Seven list! Baaaaaad-ass. Looky:

Band lineup announcement!!
So, anyone who's been to our shows or heard our radio/TV appearances may have noticed...but I thought I would make the announcement on the websites here:
Bernie, my closest friend and cosmic brother, has parted ways as the Dregs' bassist. We love him very much, and he will always be a driving creative force to us...that force is so strong that he just needs to forge his own path. Someone as brilliant as he deserves to be out on his own, making his own music with his own vision.
That said, we're so stoked to have played the last couple shows with Justin Maxwell (formerly of the Coming Grass, Travis Kline, and other badass projects). Not only is he a killer bassist, but super cool dude and a perfect fit for our journey as a band.
Also, I never announced it officially, but JEFF BEAM has signed on as our permanent lead guitarist. Jeff Beam rocks. This announcement is a long ways late, because Jeff has been playing with us for months and months now, but hey, better late than never. We love him.
That makes it Justin, Jeff, Kerry, and myself. We are deliciously compatible as musicians and pals. I cannot wait to tour with these guys, it's going to be a wild ride.
This lineup is rock solid, I'm stoked to work with these guys for the whole ride. Through all the record deals, drug habits, women, wine, fist fights, eventual self-destruction and reunion tour when we're all in our 50's.
Peace y'all,
Roy
